Dr. Danny Lascano obtained his B.A. in Biology from Swarthmore College (Swarthmore, PA) and M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (New York, NY). During medical school, he obtained two grants including an NIH T32 grant and the Ferdinand C. Valentine Fellowship Award to study frailty in patients undergoing surgery for a urologic malignancy as well as studying kidney dysfunction for patients who underwent partial or radical nephrectomy for renal cell carcinoma. He was awarded The Ferdinand C. Valentine Fellowship Award for his outcomes research. While at Westchester, he studied outcomes of patients with cirrhosis focusing on predictive factors for morbidity and mortality. He completed a two-year research fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles focusing on metastatic neuroblastoma using a mouse model and treatment options using immunomodulating inhibitors. He assisted in outcomes research focusing on rare cancers in children such as inflammatory myofibroblast tumors and hepatocellular neoplasms. Currently, his research interests include hepatocellular carcinoma, melanoma, and pancreatic cancer. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, baking bread with his sourdough mixer, and building furniture.
